Brittany Avila is an LPC Associate (LPC-A) who attended LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology as well as her master’s degree in counseling. Brittany also completed her first two years of college studies at Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC), located in Mount Pleasant, Texas.

Brittany completed her internship at Rapha Counseling, under the supervision of Elizabeth Arredondo, M.Ed., LPC-S, the Director of Rapha Counseling. Her Therapy Treatments include solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and expressive arts. Brittany also has training in assessment intakes, communication skills, crisis intervention evaluations. She feels that everyone should undergo therapy at some point in their lives for personal growth opportunities as one experiences hardships in life.

Brittany is committed to establishing a safe place in which people can express their most intense sentiments and emotions. She believes that counseling is unique to each individual and that certain approaches are more effective than others depending on one’s specific issue. It was once mentioned by a graduate professor that "the ultimate goal of therapy is to eventually end therapy." Therapy, in her view, should focus on continuous improvement until the client masters the skills taught and is able to use them on their own. At that time, she should be able to step back and let them use the tools on their own, returning only now and then to make minor modifications. Brittany aspires to help clients reach their goals by actively listening, obtaining insight into existing concerns, and giving the client room to work through challenges. She feels that her responsibility as a therapist is to educate clients with valuable knowledge and resources so that they can work on their goals both within as well as outside of the therapy office.

Brittany enjoys reading, riding, running, podcasting, owning an Airbnb business, and participating in sports. Brittany played softball her entire life, including at the collegiate level. She played softball at NTCC for two years and Letourneau University for one year, where she played centerfield.
